Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
September 21st 2010 by Harper TeenSixteen-year-old Evie’s job is bagging and tagging paranormals. Possessing the strange ability to see through their glamours, she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency. But when someone–or something–starts taking out the vamps, werewolves, and other odd beasties she’s worked hard to help become productive members of society, she’s got to figure it out before they all disappear and the world becomes utterly normal.
Normal is so overrated.
I have had this book on my watch list for a looong time (well before the cover even came out!) and I really can’t wait for it to come out already! I love the idea of a YA novel with a protagonist who has a real job – especially one as scary as Evie’s!

Take Me There by Carolee Dean
Young Adult – July 20th 2010 by Simon Pulse
Sometimes sexy, sometimes sad, and always intense, Take Me There is a dark and surprising novel about a boy on the run who’s headed nowhere fast.
Dylan has a bad-boy past and a criminal record. He knows that rich, beautiful Jess is way too good for him—but she has always been the one person who sees through his tough exterior and straight to his heart, and he has been hopelessly in love with her from the first time they met. He would change his life for a chance with her.
But trouble follows Dylan wherever he goes, and a deadly mistake soon forces him to hit the road and leave his dreams behind. He’s on the run and in search of answers—answers to questions he wishes he’d never asked.
Maybe I am just in the mood for a bad boy after Perfect Chemistry, but this sounds absolutely brilliant. Dylan also sounds like he has his head screwed on a bit tighter than Alejandro – so let’s hope this is a good one!

Unholy Ghosts (Downside, #1) by Stacia Kane
Urban Fantasy – May 25th 2010 by Del Rey
The world is not the way it was. The dead have risen, and the living are under attack. The powerful Church of Real Truth, in charge since the government fell, has sworn to reimburse citizens being harassed by the deceased.
Consequently, there are many false claims of hauntings from those hoping to profit. Enter Chess Putnam, a fully-tattooed witch, freewheeling Debunker, and ghost hunter. She’s got a real talent for nailing human liars and banishing the wicked dead. But she’s keeping a dark secret from the Church: a little drug problem that’s landed her in hot and dangerous water.
Chess owes a lot of money to a murderous drug lord named Bump. And Bump wants immediate payback. All Chess has to do is dispatch a very nasty species of undead from an old airport. But the job involves black magic, human sacrifice, a nefarious demonic creature, and crossing swords with enough wicked energy to wipe out a city of souls. Toss in lust for a rival gang leader and a dangerous attraction to Bump’s ruthless enforcer, and Chess begins to wonder if the rush is really worth it. Hell, yeah.
Ann Aguire called this book the “ultimate bible of badassery” – which is a hell of a recommendation if I’ve ever heard one! And c’mon, have you ever read a UF book where the protag has a drug problem? I didn’t think so.

The Prophecy (The Watchers Chronicles) by Dawn Miller
Paranormal Young Adult – May 1st 2010 by Zondervan
This intense, emotionally charged supernatural thriller is set in the dark city streets of St. Louis, where five teenagers are reunited by a reoccurring nightmare from their childhood. They soon learn that what was meant to destroy them would be the catalyst that drives them to embark on an epic journey of good versus evil—a journey that will open their eyes and hearts to the true power of God and the reality of evil determined to blind the world from that truth.
I don’t know much about this book – but I do know it has a kick-ass cover and is likely going to feed my new angel addiction. There is just something about guys with wings smiting each other that makes me smile.

Kiss Of Death by Rachel Caine
Paranormal Young Adult – Morganville Vampires, #8
May 3rd 2010 by Allison & Busby (UK) and Signet (US)
Vampire musician Michael Glass has attracted the attention of a big- time producer who wants to cut a demo and play some gigs-which means Michael will have to enter the human world. For this, he’s been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael’s all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell…
I am eagerly awaiting my next Morganville fix. If you haven’t read any of Caine’s kick-ass series, you really should start now! I’d say it is the best YA series on sale… although the Vampire Academy series comes pretty close!
