Hi there! I’m Kay: an opinionated book blogger enamoured with the world of novels. Reader of Speculative Fiction (the posh word for Sci-Fi/Fantasy) and Young Adult novels. Believer in the many uses of the towel, the science of deduction and other fandom in-jokes.
This blog has been closed since early 2016. To the publishers and writers: thanks for all the support over the years. To my readers and fellow bloggers: keep in touch!

The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, #3) by Kelley Armstrong
Young Adult – April 6th 2010 by Orbit
Only two weeks ago, life was all too predictable. But that was before I saw my first ghost. Now, along with my supernatural friends Tori, Derek, and Simon, I’m on the run from the Edison Group, which genetically altered us as part of their sinister experiment. We’re hiding in a safe house that might not be as safe as it seems. We’ll be gone soon anyway, back to rescue those we’d left behind and to take out the Edison Group . . . or so we hope.
It is no secret that I am completely obsessed with this series (hello? *points at layout*) And since we are finally get near to the release date – I can’t believe I have been lusting over this for a year – I thought I should remind you of the amazingness that lies ahead! This is the final book from Chloe and I getting positively giddy thinking about it.
If you haven’t picked up the first book in the trilogy, The Summoning… then run out now and buy it!

On My Wishlist (Mar. 6th, 2010)
On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It’s where I list all the books I desperately want but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.
Lips Touch: Three Times by Laini Taylor
This is supposed to be an amazing book – has won loads of awards and, well, I haven’t read a bad review for it yet. Not to mention fab illustrations!
Three tales of supernatural love, each pivoting on a kiss that is no mere kiss, but an action with profound consequences for the kissers’ souls:
Goblin Fruit: In Victorian times, goblin men had only to offer young girls sumptuous fruits to tempt them to sell their souls. But what does it take to tempt today’s savvy girls?
Spicy Little Curses: A demon and the ambassador to Hell tussle over the soul of a beautiful English girl in India. Matters become complicated when she falls in love and decides to test her curse.
Hatchling: Six days before Esme’s fourteenth birthday, her left eye turns from brown to blue. She little suspects what the change heralds, but her small safe life begins to unravel at once. What does the beautiful, fanged man want with her, and how is her fate connected to a mysterious race of demons?
Snitch by Allison van Diepen
This looks like a really dark, tough young adult book – and what about that kick-ass cover? Has a bit of danger, and bit of romance, and no vampires!
“In a school run by gangs, staying out was harder than joining. We knew who our friends were, and were careful what we said. If people thought we were haters, it would only be a matter of time…”
Lines are clearly marked at South Bay High School. It’s mixed territory for the Crips and the Bloods, which means the drama never stops.
Julia DiVino wants none of it. No colors, no C-Walks — it’s just not her thing.
But when Eric Valienté jumps into her life, everything changes. Lines are redrawn. And then they’re crossed.
Kelley Armstrong London Signing!
KELLEY ARMSTRONG LONDON SIGNING!
Forbidden Planet London Megastore
179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR
Tuesday 23 March 18:00 – 19:00
Kelley Armstrong will be signing Frostbitten at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR, on Tuesday 23rd March 6 – 7pm
After years of struggle, Elena Michaels – journalist, investigator, werewolf – has finally come to terms with her strange fate, and learned how to control her wild side. At least, that’s what she believes when she sets off to Alaska with her partner Clay. A series of gruesome maulings and murders outside Anchorage seem to implicate a rogue band of werewolves. But the truth is more complicated. Trapped in a frozen, unforgiving terrain, they are forced to confront a deadly secret, and their own, untamed nature…Gripping, intense and deeply satisfying, Frostbitten is a brilliant novel of suspense with a supernatural twist.
Kelley Armstrong lives in rural Ontario, Canada, with her family and far too many pets. She is the author of the bestselling Women of the Otherworld series, the highly acclaimed Darkest Power young adult series and two adventure novels about a hitwoman, EXIT STRATEGY and MADE TO BE BROKEN.
♥♥♥♥
Unfortunately, I can’t make this signing – grr – but I had to share the exciting news! I believe she will be signing the paperback copy of Frostbitten, which isn’t actually due out until May – but don’t quote me on that!
