It’s Monday! What are you reading this week? is a weekly event now hosted by One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books where we discuss our week of reading!

Currently Reading:

• Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase – This book is amazing!  I am really not that much of a historical romance fan… but hey, sometimes you have to give in and remember that a recommendation by SBTB means it is a guaranteed great read.

• Fire Study by Maria V. Snyder – Really disappointing.  It was good, but compared with the epic genius of the first two books, this one was just… not.

Reviews posted this week:

• Beating Heart by A.M. Jenkins – You should check out this YA!paranormal.  Definitely not your average addition to the genre!
• Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead – This was a great book, but I have a feeling the next one will be even better.

Up next on my TBR pile:

• Ondine by Ebony McKenna – I really need to catch up on my YA Debut Author challenge.
• Angels’ Blood by Nalini Singh – Am feeling up to some winged!PNR this week!

It’s Monday! What are you reading this week? is a weekly event now hosted by One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books where we discuss our week of reading!

Currently reading:

• The Lunatic Cafe by Laurell K. Hamilton

Finished this week:

• The Mage in Black by Jaye Wells – My favourite read this week!  Hysterical and sad and just… brilliant!
• Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow – This was a fun read, but the last half didn’t live up to the first for me.
• Perfect Chemistry by Simione Elkeles – This was like candy for the brain – addictive like hell.  But a few times the characters went a bit, er, insane.  A few too many plot devices…

• The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong
• Need by Carrie Jones

Next on my TBR pile:

• Beastly by Alex Flinn
• The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan

What are you reading on Monday? – (April 5th, 2010)

It’s Monday! What are you reading this week? is a weekly event now hosted by One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books where we discuss our week of reading!

Currently reading:

• The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien – I am a month behind with the readalong, but by God, I am going to finish this trilogy! TTT is going a lot faster than FotR.  So maybe I will be able to finish all three this month!

Finished this week:

• Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore – Disappointing.
• Bring the Heat by M.L. Rhodes – Lovely novella!  Really want to read more of her stuff, but I don’t think I can read novel-length ebooks!  I may have to splash out on an Amazon US order.

Books to get back to:

• The Demon’s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan – I had an amazing 70 page experience, and then started musing about her online fiction instead of the words on the page!  This book deserves more attention, and I really shall get back to it soon.

What will I be reading this week?
I am participating in the Dewey’s Readathon on April 10th – and I have a few books lined up for me to get through on that.  I am also doing the New Author Challenge: Battle Royale, and need to choose 3-5 books to read for that this month.  I think I was slightly high when signing up for these, because I really should be studying instead!  Alas.  Anyhow, my reading list this week includes:

• Tithe by Holly Black
• Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
• Mercy Thompson: Homecoming by Patricia Briggs

• Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs – 5 stars!  Absolutely loved this book and highly rec the Mercy Thompson series.
• Fade Out by Rachel Caine – 4 stars.  Another great Morganville instalment!
• Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost – DNF.
• The Tin Star by J.L. Langley – DNF.
