Since I missed out last week, my book stash is slightly larger this week… or maybe I have to just admit that I have failed my New Year’s resolution to be less impulsive with my book-buying madness!

I also got 3 more Richelle Mead novels. I think I am only missing one of the Succubus books and then I’ll have them all (GOD, I need more reading time!).  A disturbing amount of them are signed – five, or maybe six? – because my book stores seem to keep a stack of them in the back room.  Seriously, they never run out.  It’s bizarre.
  • Succubus Dreams by Richelle Mead (signed)
  • Succubus Shadows by Richelle Mead – Anyone else annoyed by how tall this book is?  It’s completely mismatched with the rest of the series!  *le sigh*
  • Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead
Anyhow, I was very happy with my books this week!  How about everyone else?  ♥

I went a bit mad at charity shops this week, so despite being on a book-buying sabbatical I have a new stack on my TBR!

  • The Resistance by Gemma Malley – I got this because it was £1 and I don’t have the first book! Should I run out and get it? Any thoughts, people?
  • Wings by Aprilynne Pike
  • Dead Men’s Boots by Mike Carey
  • The Regeneration Trilogy by Pat Barker – Three of my favourite books of all time in one nice edition. I was very happy to find this!
  • Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella
  • Devil’s Due by Rachel Caine – Caine’s less-read series which I am really looking forward to!
So how was your week?  ♥

Love my books this week!  Why came in your mailbox?

I got a lot of great books this week – I’m afraid I let myself go at Foyles and Forbidden Planet!  First off, I got two lovely signed editions this week:

stolen kelley armstrong signed mike carey devil you know signed

  • The Devil You Know by Mike Carey – This is supposed to be a brilliant book and has been on wishlist for a while.  Seeing a signed copy was a great excuse to get it!
  • Stolen by Kelley Armstrong – Apparently having 3 signed books by her wasn’t enough for me… I was just proud of myself for not buying her entire series signed!
book haul 2010

And the rest:

  • Beastly by Alex Flinn – So glad to get a cover without the annoying “read it before you see it” faux!stickers.
  • Beating Heart by A.M. Jenkins – Hadn’t heard of this book before I found it on the shelves at Foyles.  The great quote by Melissa Marr on the cover made me decide to take a risk!
  • Angel by Cliff McNish
  • Split by Stefan Petrucha – A lovely US hardcover import… thank you Foyles!
  • The Secret Life of Trees: How They Live and Why They Matter by Colin Trudge
So that was my week!  How was yours? ♥

My week has been filled with rather small, but wonderful packages.  Only 3 books, but all ones I have been dying to read!  In fact, I have already read two of them – I guess if I were to continue with this buying-then-reading pattern, they wouldn’t mount up so high on my TBR pile… Hmm.

I had also gotten a copy of Beastly by Alex Flinn, but Amazon screwed up the edition I was supposed to get. *le sigh*  Their returns people are evil.

Anyhow, how was your week? ♥

In My Mailbox (Mar. 28th, 2010) – AKA WEEK OF AWESOME

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren (inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie) and explores the content of your mailbox!

Okay, I went crazy this week.  Totally and utterly insane.  Why you ask?  Well, it is not because I bought a lot of books – rather, that I bought a bunch of books I already own!

Two words, people: SIGNED COPIES.  First off, there was the amazing Kelley Armstrong signing – where I got two more copies (now with lovely dedications) of The Summoning and The Awakening.  I also asked her to sign a hardback copy of Frostbitten  (but never mind that, as it does not fit with my theme.)

And while I was there, I figured I might as well roll with it.  SO – because I had to miss both the Richelle Mead AND Charlaine Harris signings – I got signed copies of their books as well.  From Forbidden Planet, I got a second copy of Dead until Dark by Charlaine Harris and Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead.  I then popped up the road to Foyles and got the a old-UK-edition signed copy of Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.  So now I have three books signed by Richelle Mead, and have not even met the dear lady!  It is actually rather odd.

On the non-signed front, I got two amazing books – one of which resulted in its very own post of OMGSQUEE.  The Mystery of Grace by Charles de Lint which I had been wanting for quite a while, and…

THE RECKONING by Kelley Armstrong!

Needless to say, I was very excited to get my hands on it almost two weeks early.  I stumbled upon it completely by chance at a Waterstone’s (whose identity I shall keep secret in order not to alert them of their mistake) and snatched it off the shelf before someone could pry it from my cold, dead hands.  I did have a slight moment of panic as I went up to the till, wondering if some sort of warning alarm would alert them of their error.  Needless to say, it did not.  And I?  Well I am a very, very happy bunny.  ♥

Okay, I am done cooing over all my new, shiny, lovely, beauuuuuutiful books.

Or, maybe I’m not.  😉  Happy, HAPPY week!
