Monday Reading (January 3rd, 2011)

monday reading

It’s Monday! What are you reading this week? is a weekly event now hosted by One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books where we discuss our week of reading!

Currently Reading:

  • Night Shift by Lilith Saintcrow – I loved Lili’s YA series (Strange Angels) and have so far really enjoyed this first book in her adult series.  The main character is just as touch-as-nails as Dru.
  • Mercy by Rebecca Lim – Not sure I will be finishing this any time soon.  If I hadn’t gotten it for review, I might have given up by now.  Perhaps it will improve with time?

Finished this week:

  • Stealing Heaven by Elizabeth Scott – Finished this in one long sitting.  I just couldn’t put it down!  This book was a lot darker/more intense than I expected (from the cover it looked rather like chick-lit YA) and I adored the unexpected depth in all the characters.  Can’t wait to review this one.

Monday Reading (Nov. 29th, 2010)

It’s Monday! What are you reading this week? is a weekly event now hosted by One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books where we discuss our week of reading!

Currently Reading:

  • A Madness of Angels by Kate Griffin – Yep, I’m still reading this – even though it has been, oh, 3 months since I started it!  I blame myself, not the book.
  • Mercy by Rebecca Lim – Not sure how I feel about this one yet… the main character seems rather out of it.
  • Raised by Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes – Again, I’m not quite sure I am going to enjoy this one. The main character is rather reckless and has a bit of the TSTL (too stupid to live) syndrome going on.

    Finished this week:
    • Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre – OMG THIS SERIES. This book single-handedly got me out of my reading slump. Loved it (although not as much as Grimspace, which should be worshipped as the literary genius it is).
    • Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs – You can always count on Briggs to deliver, and this book was yet another example of that. Fantastic read – this series is a must for werewolf fans!

Oh, and I just wanted to point out the fantabulous image I used in this post!  Really need to read The Hunger Games already…

      Monday Reading (Oct. 11th, 2010)

It’s Monday! What are you reading this week? is a weekly event now hosted by One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books where we discuss our week of reading!

      Currently Reading:

      • A Madness of Angels by Kate Griffin – Still reading this.  Admittedly I have almost semi-abandoned it.  Which is such a shame, considering it is fantastic.
      • Dark Life by Kat Falls – This book is fantastic.  Almost finished with it!

      Finished this week:

      • Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson – Good.  Not fantastic, but enjoyable nonetheless.  Despite my plans for posting a review earlier last week, you will have to check back tomorrow for the full report!
      • Stargazer by Claudia Gray – Had some fantastic bits, but Bianca is still an unpleasant character.

        Monday Reading (Oct. 4th, 2010)

It’s Monday! What are you reading this week? is a weekly event now hosted by One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books where we discuss our week of reading!

        Currently Reading:

        • A Madness of Angels by Kate Griffin – This is fantastic, but OMG so dense!  I am only about 120 pages in and have already read about two novels worth!
        • Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson – Really enjoying this.  I love verses where the supernatural is known

        Finished this week:

        • Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs – Absolutely adorable, but a little simple.  Almost MG instead of YA.

          Monday Reading (Sept. 20th, 2010)

It’s Monday! What are you reading this week? is a weekly event now hosted by One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books where we discuss our week of reading!
          Currently Reading:
          • A Madness of Angels by Kate Griffin – This is pure-UF written by a very, very skilled author.  But I can’t give a firm opinion yet, as I’m 15 pages in and have no idea what the book will be about!

          Finished this week:

          • Captivate by Carrie Jones – Not a good as Need, but still really enjoyable.  Zara is such an unusual character, that one can’t help but enjoy her on principle!
