“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that are being eagerly anticipated.
Under the Never Sky by Veronica RossiGoodreads – YA – February 7th 2012 by HarperCollins (US) / ATOM (UK)EXILED from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland—known as the Death Shop—are slim. If the cannibals don’t get her, the violent energy storms will. She’s been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an outsider named Perry. He’s wild—a savage— and her only hope of staying alive. Because they must, they will struggle together to survive. Aria and Perry forge an unlikely alliance—one that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.
OK, so I never planned to do a WoW for Under the Never Sky. I figured that you were all smart, and had already spotted the summary and cover online, after which you immediately added it to your wishlist. Fantastic summary, stunning cover, and great publisher = wishlist must. So, I kept my interest in this novel under wraps.
So, besides telling you how much I’ve (secretly, apparently) been longing for this book… I’d like to complain about the recently released UK cover. Because, OMG WT-bloody-F?? When I spotted this cover on Tez Says my first reaction was “oh dear, what poor novel ended up with that monstrosity?”… and then I saw the title. Let’s all start praying to every god in the phone book that there is still time for ATOM to correct this overly-tanned, PNR monstrosity of a cover!

Haha…he does look a bit like he’s been hitting the tanning beds too much, doesn’t he! I definitely prefer the US version!
Great pick, though—I’m looking forward to this one, too!
I don’t think the UK cover is ugly, but I still prefer the US cover!
My WoW
Yeah ick…I don’t like the UK cover…she doesn’t look to happy in it anyways!
Our WOW pick is at Book Sake.
I think the UK cover is just awful too! I too had a total WTF moment when I saw it! 😀

This look like a great book. That UK cover is a bit…. atrocious. It looks very amateur and crappy. Either way, I’ve added the book to my TBR list, it sounds awesome!
Feel free to check out what I’m waiting on here.
Wow, I’m surprised because the UK normally has such better covers than the US. That’s so sad they had to go and make that one….but the book sounds really good! Great pick!
Here’s my WoW!
Lol! I have to admit I thought the same thing. I would honestly be to embarrassed of this cover to read it in public! Its awkward and just bad.
But – I can’t wait for the book all the same!
My WoW
That is one epic YA cover! It’s like she’s walking on air!
Our WoW at Badass Book Reviews.
New follower here! 😀
Hmmm… yes I did see this one on Goodreads yesterday and I was wondering the same thing– what IS up with that cover?? To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of either of them, but the blue one at least doesn’t look like some paperback romance novel from 1972 🙂 Well, hopefully the book is awesome no matter what!!
You can see my WoW pick for this week at the link below, would love if you stopped by! 😀

Ha it is a bit hideous isn’t it. Still looking forward to reading it even if I do end up with the rubbish cover.
